Taipei, May 6 (CNA) President Chen Shui-bian denied Tuesday allegations that he is implicated in a nearly US$30 million diplomatic fraud scandal that came to light May 1.
Chen made the statement, his first since the exposure of the embarrassing scandal, in a press release issued by the Presidential Office amid mounting pressure from the public for him to acknowledge his alleged part in the case.
